GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo.—The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment released employment numbers for the month of September today. At 8 percent unemployment, the latest report shows that Colorado’s economic recovery continues to lag behind the national economy.
Colorado Republican Party Chairman Ryan Call released the following statement today, concerning the new numbers:
“Today’s report shows that Colorado’s families and business owners continue to suffer under the failed Obama economy. Four years ago, our unemployment rate stood barely above 5 percent. Today, it sits at 8 percent, above the national average.
“With less than 20 days until the election, President Obama has yet to offer voters his plan to create a real economic recovery during his second term. His absence of vision has hamstrung job creation in our state and across the nation.
“We can’t afford another four years under Obama, and this election offers voters a clear choice between more of the same or Mitt Romney’s plan to strengthen the middle class and create 12 million new jobs.”
