Colorado GOP Statement on House Resolution 22-1004
January 18, 2022
January 17, 2022

Greenwood Village, Colorado – Colorado GOP Chairwoman Kristi Burton Brown, Vice-Chair Priscilla Rahn, and Secretary Marilyn Harris released the following statement today celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. Day:

“Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a time to honor Dr. King and his tremendous legacy of equality, justice, change, and freedom. We are proud and grateful that Dr. King challenged our nation to stand up for the ideals that we were founded on.

“Dr. King’s statement, ‘Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that’ is a statement that resonates today and a statement we hope every American will remember. It is our hope that Coloradans use today, and everyday, to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Today, we stand with our fellow Coloradans in honoring the unending and proud values of equality and freedom that Dr. King fought and gave his life for.”
