Greenwood Village, Colorado. – Here is something that will make most Coloradans and fisherman laugh. Sen. Bennet literally only purchased a 1-day fishing license so he could film a campaign commercial about how much of an outdoorsman he is.
Senator Bennet proved that he is nothing but a fraud when it comes to the Colorado outdoors. His second campaign commercial showed him in a Colorado river, fly fishing. The message being that Bennet was a fly fisherman and someone who, like most Coloradans, is an avid outdoorsman. Well, Axios popped that bubble.
From Axios: “Of note: Bennet received a one-day fishing license to film the commercial, according to documents provided by his campaign.”
Most fisherman I know, who actually live in Colorado, don’t purchase their licenses one day at a time.
In fact, I’d be willing to bet that Bennet hasn’t purchased a Colorado fishing license since he ran for re-election in 2016.
One Colorado Twitter user even asked if it was a “resident or non-resident fishing license.” It’s sad when that is a legitimate question that should be asked.
Statement from Colorado GOP Executive Director Joe Jackson: “Senator Bennet is a fraud. Bennet isn’t a fly fisherman, he isn’t an outdoorsman, he only pretends to be one for his campaign commercials every 6 years. Coloradans take the outdoors seriously and it’s clear that Bennet is more comfortable hobnobbing with East Coast billionaires than he is in the Colorado outdoors. Purchasing a 1-day fishing license for a campaign shoot to trick voters is amateur hour.”
